첫 번째 산업용 로봇

시대: 인공지능의 탄생 · 1950년대~1970년대

유니메이트는 조립 라인에서 작동한 최초의 로봇이 되었다. 1961년 제너럴 모터스는 뉴저지주 트렌턴 공장에 이 로봇을 설치해 다이캐스팅 기계에서 주물을 꺼내는 작업에 사용했다. 뜨거운 주조 부품을 기계에서 들어 올리는 공정이다. Unimation은 사람에게 힘들거나 위험하거나 단조로운 작업을 맡기기 위해 이 기계를 만들었다.
